Bhuna Masala from ‘Ome Made is the ideal curry powder for making the classic Indian Restaurant dish.
Bhuna is such a simple dish with few ingredients so it really can let the spices shine. To the base flavours of coriander, turmeric and cumin, warming and aromatic spices are added such as mustard seeds and green and black cardamom. There is also a hefty amount of Kashmiri chilli in there to give a little background heat and, of course, wonderful colour.
The Bhuna Masala can be used to make a BIR style dish using base gravy or hotel style gravy, or you can use it for a more traditional dish by simply frying with onion, garlic and ginger and adding tomatoes to reduce to a thick sauce to coat your main ingredient.
