Description
Turbo Tikka Spice Mix from ‘Ome Made is a special blend of Indian spices and herbs for amazing tasting Tikka & Tandoori dishes.
Building on the success of our Tandoori Masala blend, we added other elements to give a spice mix that gives outstanding results.
The mix is slightly spicier as it has more Kashmiri Chilli in it for colour and extra hot chillies for heat.
It is even more tangier with added pomegranate powder and secret ingredients, as well as the usual mango powder.
There are undertones of Chaat Masala in there with the distinctive sulphurous smell of black salt and warming brown cardamon.
Before being milled some of the ingredients are very gently roasted to give a greater depth of flavour.
Don’t just take our word on how good this spice blend is though. try it for yourself!
For 3 to 4 people use around 500g main ingredient (chicken, paneer, prawns or lamb). Prepare the main ingredient by cubing into bite size pieces.
Mix 4 tsp of Tikka spice with 1 tbsp of oil (or yoghurt with a little oil), 1 tsp garlic paste, 1 tsp ginger paste and a pinch of salt. Add a little water if needed to make a paste.
Mix the main ingredient with the spice paste and leave to marinate for 2 – 24hrs. An hour before cooking add the juice of 1/2 lemon or 1 tbsp of bottled lemon juice.
You can use Turbo Tikka Spice Mix in Glebe Kitchens Tikka recipe or Misty Ricardo’s Curry Kitchen recipe. Just use in place of the listed spices.
Although you will get a nice deep red colour from the spices and natural colouring in the spice mix, if you want the bright red, like you get in some Indian restaurants, then you need to add 1/4 tsp of red food colouring powder to your marinade.
Comes in a resealable pouch.
Suitable for Vegetarians & Vegans.
