BBQ Rub ‘Gnarly Barbie Rub-a-Dub-Rub’ is an Australian influenced rub. Gnarly is Australian slang for Awesome! Barbie is… well I don’t think that one needs explaining!
Gnarly Barbie is a really good all rounder. It can be used to rub in to big hunks of meat such as pork shoulder or beef brisket for low & slow cooks. Works brilliantly with ribs & wings. It can be used to season kebabs and burgers and is great for sprinkling over potatoes for sautéing or baking. It can also be used on roasted vegetables or corn on the cob.
The predominant flavours in this BBQ Rub are paprika with mustard and ground celery seeds with other herbs & spices to give a really deep savoury flavour. There is a touch of ground cayenne chilli but only enough to give a little background piquancy.
