Chicken Wing Seasoning – Winging It from ‘Ome Made is a classic combination of herbs & spices made especially for chicken wings. Paprika is the dominant flavour with salt, pepper, cumin, mustard, onion & garlic and a little chilli.
Winging It is a nice savoury seasoning and not overly hot. Great for throwing on the BBQ if you have a lot of guests to entertain.
If you like things spicy, just add extra chilli or add your favourite hot sauce to melted butter and toss the wings in it before serving.
If wings aren’t your thing then this seasoning is equally as good on chicken thighs, drumsticks or leg portions.
For a 1kg of wings use around 4 tsp of Winging It seasoning. You can simply toss the wings in it with a little oil before cooking. If you want extra special chicken wings then soak the wings in around 250ml of buttermilk (or 250ml of milk with roughly 1 tbsp of lemon juice added) overnight.
Drain the wings and then add to a mixture of 4 tsp of Winging It, 1 tbsp of flour and 1 tsp of baking powder. Toss in the mixture until well coated and then cook indirect on the BBQ or in a moderate oven for 30 – 40 minutes until cooked through.
