Bengali Curry Masala

Description

Bengali Curry Masala from ‘Ome Made takes a basic mild curry masala and adds extra spices to give a deep, savoury  and flavourful curry masala.

The extra spices added are cumin, mustard seed, fenugreek, fennel & kalonji (onion seed or nigella). These 5 spices are the ones that go in to the Bengali spice mix of Panch Phoron.

This Masala also contains Kashmiri chilli. A chilli which is used for the deep red colour it gives to food as rather than heat. It also contains a small amount of Amchur which is dried mango powder which gives a subtle amount of sourness.

Use like you would any other curry masala or powder when you want that extra flavour in your curry.

Simply fry with onion, garlic and ginger before adding meat, chicken or vegetables and stock, water or tinned tomatoes. Alternatively fry garlic and ginger and add curry base gravy for a B.I.R style curry.

Bengali Curry Masala is also great for adding to an onion bhaji mix!

Just like our other Curry Masalas, Bengali Curry Masala is low in salt and has no other fillers such as flour to bulk the mixture out. You are getting a whole load of ground spices!
